Tasty Fish

A Costco find:

I brushed the frozen fish with a little melted butter, sprinkled garlic salt and added fresh ground pepper. I baked it for 25 minutes, according to the package. The only thing that was missing was a tiny bit of fresh lemon juice.

Just look at the nutrition information!

18 grams of protein in one filet.

I am on a very strict, low fat, mostly protein diet so this is absolutely perfect for me.

Do you eat fish? If so, what kind? The only other fish I make is fresh salmon and shrimp.

I cook tilapia a lot for my oldest daughter - and now that she's back at school she's cooking it often for her and her roommates.

One way I make it that she likes a lot is this way:

Place slightly thawed tilapia in baking dish. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with herb & spice blend used for dipping bread (we really like a garlic/basil/tomato blend). Cover with thinly sliced onion and diced tomato. Pour a bit of lemon or lime juice over all, and bake at 375 for about 20 to 25 minutes. Serve with rice or pasta (and my daughter pours the pan liquids over her rice or pasta, too).

That you for this recommendation. I am a new Costco customer...and I like fish like this.

So wonderful.

costco costco costco, love it! i have not tried that tilapia, but i will! we love tilapia, but the last few times i bought it it kind of tasted like soil, like licking the garden.

We get tilapia at our grocery store almost once a week (I try to wait for a sale) and I just bake it with lemon, garlic, and butter, salt and pepper. This week they had it on sale stuffed with "crabbette imperial" - i.e. I thought it was crab imperial like the label said but when I looked at the fine print, it was imitation crab! It was very, good, though, and I just sort of steamed it in water on the stove.

We also like shrimp, crab legs, salmon, and tuna. All good stuff!!!

melinda, I promise this was not like "licking the garden" LOL. In fact, the thing I liked about this is that it was frozen so I didn't have to smell 'fish' and touch slimy fish.
