Bad Boy!

I had an interesting night last night but I need to back up and tell you what we did for the 4th of July in order for you to GET my story.

We always have a 4th of July party and this year would be no different except it was going to be earlier in the day so we could all leave and go watch fireworks. It was expected to be about 114 degrees outside and I didn't think one pool would suffice so I went shopping and bought the kids a Wham-O Slip and Slide (which was a huge hit) and a silly little blow up pool with a silly little blow up slide for the silly little girls that were going to be at the party. Everyone had a ball!

The next day I moved the slip and slide off the grass but I left the blow up pool. Nancy's dog Mack (pictured above, we've had him for 4 years) has been spotted drinking out of the pool and also standing in it. We were watching him yesterday hoping he would plop down and take a little (shallow) swim. You see, Mack is 14 and is beginning to do some very odd things. Lately, he has been barking from the kitchen at 5 am. Laying comfortably on the floor BARKING, at 5 AM. So we were curious to see what he would do in that pool.

Now back to last night. He came to our room at 3 AM and because I was awake I got up to let him out and wait for him to come back to our doors. I sat down in our rocker and waited for him to come to the door. He was taking FOREVER and I even dosed off waiting. Finally, he appeared at the door and pushed it open with his nose and greeted me. Of course it is pitch black in our room but I noticed something funny about him. He appeared to be wet and within one second, standing right in front of me, at my level he shakes a big full shake. I'm now soaked in grassy water from the silly blow up pool AT 3 O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING. Evidently Mackie took an early morning swim. OK, I'm awake now and a little grossed out but I am laughing very hard because well, it's funny and he's precious, he's 14 and he's the best dog in the whole wide world and we have enjoyed him so much since we've had him!!

I can't imagine life without Mack.

Second...I think it is funny that you have had Mackie for 4 years and you still call him Nancy's dog!!
Third...YEAH!!!!! You are in the BLOGGING mode again!! Thanks for your sweet story...dogs have a way of being so innocent and cute they never get in trouble!! What if your children were taking a swimm at 3:00am?!!!

I feel guily calling him my dog. She did all the hard work in raising him and getting him through the first 10 hard years with a golden retreiver :) I love him like he is my dog and when he is gone I will miss him as if I raised him from a puppy. Can you tell I fear losing him soon?

Tina, yes that is me. Now I toss and turn probably because of my age. UGH. But last night I have Janice to thank. She brought the kids home at 2:45 AM from Harry Potter and the other dog, Dillon barked and woke us up. So Dillon and the kids woke Mack up and the rest is history.

Yes, he shook INSIDE. AND ON ME.

WHAT!!?? A movie at 2:45 AM!!!!! Jan...did you take a nap or down a few Red Bulls?? All in the name of Harry Potter!

Sleep...what's that? I have 6 years on you!! Oh,the sweats and the happy feet. Now, my new obseesion is my feet have to be really clean before I get in bed!! Sometimes I think they are clean enough and get in bed...then...I have to get out and wash them again! SICK!!!!! Can't I just take something to get over the menopause thing?? (this question was left WIDE open for Janice our herbalist to jump right in...)

CALGON!!

we went to the midnight showing of Harry Potter, great fun, no red bull, just Cookie Dough Bites and a Big Coke...lots of caffeine today and I'll sleep like a baby tonight!!!

thanks, Cindy, for the opportunity to play 'healer' on the interent...I could seriously recommend some things that would help both the night sweats and happy feet...I'll have to do a little research on the OCD/Feet issue...;)

Janet,
aren't we the same age? I have no sleep issues...

Party in Janet's comment box!!!!!
I'll bring the beer.

Not.

Pets are really amusing!

But getting up at night for a quick dip, that IS naughty.

Dave was awake when I let the dog out and asleep by the time of the excitement. Go figure. MEN!

Getting up with babies is one thing....dogs, now that's another story. :(

Wait...what did Donna say?? That sounds like something I would say...except if you talk to Susie it would be Margarita time!!

Cindy,
We had a retarded man who worked at the bakery(washing dishes)
Every day he said,
"Party at Pat's,
I'll bring the beer!"

So it's a funny, family insider joke...that you are all privy to.

I think the funniest thing about it is that he called Patrick,
Pat!
