Warning: Bragging ahead

Avenue of Poplars by Vincent van Gogh

was Hannah's inspiration for this lovely poem

The trees are bare,
I feel the cold chill of the air but the
wind does not blow.
I hear no sound, the snow silences the sound.
The white make me feel as if
I am black with nowhere to hide.
The trees reach towards the heavens, but I feel
like I am the roots grasping down into the soil of despair.
Falling?
Perishing?
Growing?

Congrats to my dear Hannah who won 3rd place in our school's poetry writing contest!
