Here's the scoop:
May 3rd wedding (brother-in-law)
5:00 outside garden wedding
6:00 inside dinner reception
Bride wearing ivory and champagne
MOB wearing lavender tea length
MIL wearing pink tea length
Husband is best man in a black tux
That leaves me with...green?
I'm 41, is this a little oldish?
Is black out of the question for a Spring wedding?
I want your honest opinions.
UPDATE
I don't know if this is appropriate either but it sure it CUTE!

Is that green? I can't tell on this screen. I think it is pretty, but I do think it is a little oldish for you.
How about a light orange.
That would look nice with your hair.
Yes, it's light sage green ish.
My comment wouldn't post before so if it suddenly appears, don't be surprised that I have commented twice. Here is what I said:
I was going to ask if that was green? I think it looks stylish and sophisticated and sometimes you can't go wrong looking polished like that. If it looks good on you, you will feel comfortable. I wouldn't choose black for spring but can you wear charcoal? That seems to be the most popular new color right now. I see it everywhere. Dillard's and Macy's are both having fantastice mark-downs right now, as much as 75% off. I have found several expensive tops, skirts, and dresses marked down that much. Good brands like Antonio Melani and Gianni Bini and others.
Oh my gosh, Janet, I think you found a winner!!! I love the pink and black and white!!!
The black and white will look formal and the pink will keep you springy and pastel.
Get this one!!!
The second one is a winner! Since it is evening wear black strappy sandals with at least a two inch heel and a black clutch!!
Yesterday I thought I posted about finding something in yellow??...but I LOVE the pick and black!!!!
Anita the fashion maven says:
The pink is just adorable but you run the risk of looking cuter than the bride. Not always a good way to welcome someone into the family...
Okay, I confess I am extremely biased toward anything pink :-)
Blessings,
Tammy ~@~
I saw this exact dress in yellow and navy with a yellow sweater at Macy's today. Weird.
The fabric is cotton-ish and looks quite casual but don't you think I should wear it to church at least?
I like both of them. Can you send the pictures to the MOB and get her thoughts? Otherwise, go with what you'll be most comfy in. You want to have a good time. Comfortable shoes are critical!
The pink and black dress is ADORABLE!! I absolutely love that dress, Janet. The first one is good, but the second has so much more personality.
I think you're at a good age for either, though. I don't think the first one would make you look too old, nor would you look too cutesey in the second.
In the picture, the first one looks whitish. I thought that was a no-no at weddings. (But you say it's green, so I'll believe you.)
I would definitely regret not getting that pink and black dress -- wedding or not. DO IT.
I may have to email you and ask you where you saw it so I can get one, too. Would that be uncouth? You're in Arizona and I'm in Alabama, so we wouldn't end up at the same place wearing our dresses. :P Hee hee.
Hi Ruthanne, both are from Coldwater Creek. They have a great web site and catalogs so if you don't have one near your town you can always get your shopping in online. Yipee.
Not uncouth to ask. Shop away. :)
Actually, I was just kidding... pretty much. : )
I had a feeling they were from CC because I remember you saying that is your fave and I recognize the flowy, mannequin-less photography.
Trivia: We are friends with the owners of a company in Atlanta who did some of CC's early catalogs.
We have a Coldwater Creek in Birmingham. : )
I know you'll look great in whatever you wear to the wedding, Janet, especially because you have such a big, wonderful smile.
Love,
Ruthanne
THe last one is gorgeous!
